Summary

familyTV needs no account, has no analytics or tracking, and never sells data. Your photos stay in your own storage; the app asks for read-only access. Your favourites, categories and people are stored on your own devices.

Data on your devices

Metadata such as favourites, categories and people, the photo list and cached images are stored on your devices. Connection details, tokens and passwords for your storage and AI service are kept in the system Keychain. Removing the app removes this data.

Your storage providers

When you connect WebDAV, OneDrive or Google Drive, the app talks directly to that provider from your device with read-only permissions. Their privacy policies apply to the data they hold. We use this access for nothing else than showing your photos.

Cloud sharing (optional)

If you subscribe to Cloud sharing, your metadata (favourites, categories, people) is synced between your devices through our service. Photos are never synced or stored. Without a subscription nothing is sent to us.

Optional AI assistant

If you enter an API address and token, photos you select, or all new photos when auto mode is on, are sent in reduced size to that service to obtain a description and sharpness score. You choose the service and its terms apply. Without a configured service nothing is sent.

Local network pairing

The phone remote and the TV talk to each other directly over your local network after pairing, without going through our servers. Pairing uses a one-time code shown on the TV.

Plan information and purchases

The app fetches a signed plans file (plans.json) from this website to learn the current plan limits. The request contains no personal data. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple (StoreKit); we receive no payment data. Premium is restored through your Apple ID.

Webcams

Webcams are web addresses that you enter yourself. The app connects to them directly from your TV.

Analytics, tracking and advertising

The apps contain no analytics, no tracking and no data sales. Ads are not shown in version 1.0. If ads are enabled later, they will be Google ads on the Free plan only, and only after you give consent where required. The websites set no cookies and use no analytics.

Children

familyTV is a general audience app meant for families and collects no personal data from anyone, including children.

The photos in the app, on this website and in the store screenshots (a toddler on a swing, a birthday selfie, a mountain hike, a forest at dawn and a rose with dewdrops) are AI-generated images. They show no real people, places or events. Generated using AI, in line with the transparency rules of the EU AI Act (Article 50). The files carry an AI-generated marker in their metadata.

Photo descriptions in the app are generated by an AI service (OpenAI). AI-generated text can contain mistakes.
