Instructions
You need a TV with an Apple TV. An iPhone is optional and only needed for the remote.
What you need
A TV with an Apple TV, and an iPhone if you want a remote.
Your photos stay put
familyTV fetches your photos from your own drive when it needs them. It never uploads or changes them: access is read-only.
Signing in
For Google Drive and OneDrive you sign in on the provider's own page, so familyTV never sees your password. You don't need a familyTV account.
Connect your photos
Sign in to the drive where your photos live and approve read-only access.

You don't need your phone to show a slideshow. Pair it when you want to use your iPhone as the remote to favourite, sort and tag.
